The most important meal of the day. Variation one.

mw made some alfalfa sprouts, so I used it here.

Toasted walnut bread with olive oil. Spread a thin layer of creme fraiche and wasabi (my new fav combo). Sprouts on top of that, and then the egg. Flavor with a bit of soya sauce and pepper.

An pretty ugly looking amuse bouche

I still don't know how to do these things to look nice. But anyway, tastes nice. Goes with Rose wine. Did it for last week's dinner party.

Thin slice of pickled cucumber, smoked salmon, creme fraiche mixed with wasabi, roe on top of a piece of thin toast.




Attempt at strawberry ice cream with nearly all strawberry


I just added a bit of my left over vanilla ice cream. But the rest is pure strawberry. A bit hard - I guess I can call it sherbet.

The most important meal of the day is breakfast

My poached egg is more reliable now. Just swirl the water on the outer edge at a steady, but not too vigorous pace. Then carefully pour the egg from a sloped bowl into the water as close to the water as possible so as to be as gentle as possible (in fact dip the bowl a bit). Poach for 3 mins or slightly longer for cold eggs.
